TIMELINE
The first Puig Women's Cup
The 2024 Puig Women's America's Cup has been a revolutionary event in the sailing world, representing the first female participation in the history of this competition. In this format, the AC40 was used, a sailboat optimized to offer high-speed performance and maneuverability. With a length of 12 meters and a configuration specially adapted for high-level racing, the AC40 incorporates foiling technology, which allows boats to rise above the water, reducing friction and reaching impressive speeds. Each boat has a reduced crew of four people, which tests precision in coordination and teamwork.
Twelve teams, divided into two groups of six, competed in an intense qualification phase. In the final stages, Luna Rossa, the Italian team, stood out for their great performance, achieving a series of victories that allowed them to reach the final phase.
In the 2024 Puig Women's America's Cup, teams like Athena from the United Kingdom and Spain stood out notably. Athena, with their cutting-edge boat, showed great speed and tactics, becoming one of the main contenders. Meanwhile, the Spanish team demonstrated their potential, making clear the growth of women's sailing in Spain.
This edition not only highlighted the talent of the female sailors, but also demonstrated the technological advances of the sailboats in the competition, positioning the Women's America's Cup as a benchmark in high-performance sailing and a key event for future generations of sailors.

Emirates Team New Zealand successfully defended the America's Cup in 2024, consolidating their favoritism in international sailing. Their victory is attributed to a combination of tactical experience, technological innovation, and a highly qualified crew.
The team, led by helmsman Peter Burling, showed exceptional ability to read wind conditions and quickly adapt to sea variations, which allowed them to maintain a strategic advantage over their opponents.
Additionally, the implementation of advanced technologies in their yacht design, such as the use of foils to elevate the vessel and reduce water resistance, provided them with superior speed and maneuverability.
The cohesion and effective communication among crew members were fundamental in executing precise maneuvers and maintaining control during the regattas. These qualities, combined with meticulous preparation and a competitive mindset, were key for Emirates Team New Zealand to be crowned champion of the 37th America's Cup.

Our location during the America’s Cup
We were present during the America’s Cup 2025 at Marina Vela, one of Barcelona’s most emblematic ports, which is home to many of the local nautical sector’s leading companies. This port was also the base for Luna Rossa, one of the competition’s favorite teams. Although they didn’t achieve victory in the men’s category, Luna Rossa was crowned champion in the women’s and youth categories, establishing themselves as one of the event’s major figures.
For two months, we experienced the America’s Cup dynamics up close from Marina Vela, witnessing the excitement and level of competition of this historic event. It was an enriching experience that allowed us to be at the center of elite sailing action. After the competition, we returned to our usual base, Marina Port Vell, from where we continue to offer experiences aboard our luxury catamarans.
This experience reinforces our commitment to excellence and our connection with the most important international nautical events, providing our clients with a unique way to enjoy the Mediterranean and everything Barcelona has to offer.
